I get why people reblog this. I mean, I’m doing the same right now. But the thing is, most people know that the message on the sticker is disgusting. There’s a sick faction of people who think like this, and we’re giving them attention by reblogging. Our disgust is their triumph in that they’ve probably had an influx of visitors to their hate-laden website. I looked. I admit it. It’s ridiculous and wrong, and I knew that before ever typing in the URL.
People who believe this kind of shit are unreasonable. They don’t respond logically to thoughtful discussion or even outright anger. Why should they? They like the conflict and the attention and nothing anyone says, ever, will change their minds.
You’ve probably heard of the Westboro Baptist Church; the reverend’s daughter is one of their main ‘spokespeople,’ and does not hesitate to condescend, to call others ‘sweetie’ or ‘kid,’ an immature way of verbally asserting her dominance or knowledge.
