In Korea for over 2 years and I'm still getting warnings that xyz might just be 'a little too spicy for me.' You can reach me at Spicyenoughforyou.gmail.com; my inbox is always open :)

When you’re at a baby shower and realize you’re the only person in the room who doesn’t have or want children.

Everyone was giving or asking for advice on birthing or breastfeeding. Even the people who weren’t pregnant or moms were all asking questions to file under Future Information — and I was…

You and me both. And what’s worse is the collective, ‘Aww that’s so saaaad’ looks you receive from people who are sure they want/already have children. But since when did having children become mandatory?

Women talk about how fulfilling having children is or how selfish it is to not have them. But the thing is, children are a choice. I find fulfillment in my job and my friends and family—so why is my choice inferior?

The mindset that women should have children because they’re physiologically able is incredibly archaic, and yet it’s still very present today. It’s just another voice telling women what they should be doing with their bodies.

Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll be a fantastic aunt to my siblings and friends’ kids, but that’s all.
